Renewable Energy Expansion

Renewable energy is already part of the wider New Spitalfields story. A large-scale Dorset solar farm now supplies electricity to the City of London Corporation, which powers New Spitalfields Market.

Because Wellington Fresh purchases electricity directly from the market, this renewable energy helps power our own warehouses, supporting day-to-day operations with cleaner energy at source.

Reusable Crates That Cut Waste

Our crate scheme is a practical example of how sustainability works best when it fits real-life operations. Instead of relying on large volumes of single-use cardboard, we use reusable crates that stay in circulation again and again.

This system helps reduce packaging waste and significantly lowers the carbon impact of deliveries, while still giving customers a practical and reliable way to receive produce every day.
